Aloha Family & Friends,
Take a virtual tour around the world as we did a physical tour on in 1987.
To accomplish this we provided over 70 pictures that reflect highlights of our trip for you to get a better feeling about the places and events we enjoyed…so if you have a moment take the tour by tapping the noted link that takes you into facebook to view the pictures, but the foreword that gives the chronology and countries visited, that is presented below the doted line…
Our 6 week trip around the world in 1987, eastbound from Los Angeles to NYC to Germany to Singapore to Australia to Hawaii to Los Angles.

Terri & I finally got the chance to look back at some of our pics we took when we traveled around the world back in 1987 in September to October, a 6 week tour traveling eastbound. We were living in Los Angeles at the time, raising our son Chris–who was about 13 yrs. old at the time, and we managed to retrieve 6 wks of homework for Chris from his elementary school to consume. Our anticipated plan was for him to complete 6 wks of homework while flying around the world, and he did.
We also wanted to be in Germany for Octoberfest…and although we took lots of clothes for summer and fall, we learned that we took too many. You’ll see some of our bags as we travel. We managed to stay mostly at Hiltons & Hyatts wherever we stayed, and we watched Chris grow more because he was assigned to manage our currency exchange rates, his homework along with showing more of an appreciation for visiting museums.So, please enjoy our 28-year-old memory of flying around the world. We look forward to doing it again…
1 – Our 1st leg was from LAX to NYC; we stayed there for 1 week to see Family and Friends;
2 – Our 2nd leg was from NYC to Germany; we stayed there for 1 week and stayed in Mainz and Frankfurt;
3 – Our 3rd leg was from Germany to Bangkok for a few hours layover, and then off to Singapore; we stayed there for 1 week and visited the libraries via the local bus system, the Zoo, museums, China Town and several Temples/Shrines;
4 – Our 4th leg was from Singapore to Australia; we stayed there for 1 week and stayed in Melbourne and Sydney and did lots of local activities. While in Australia, there was an earthquake in Los Angeles, and Mom (Terri’s Mom) sent a telegram letting us know our house was not destroyed–you will see a copy of the telegram;
5 – Our 5th leg was suppose to be Fiji, but there was a Coup D’etat amidst, so we changed reservations and went straight to Honolulu, Hi; needless to say we lost one day when we crossed the international date line which kicked our buttsWhile on Oahu we stayed in Kailua and later visited the island of Kauai to renew our vows; what a trip but we enjoyed it, so we challenge you, have you taken your trip around the world yet…
Much love to you all and thanks for your time…
George & Terri
